Therapy: what to expect

Each person is unique, and in therapy, as everywhere else, one size does not fit all.  In my practice, I incorporate techniques and methods that are appropriate to your needs and goals. I am interested in understanding what is happening for you now, and how your past experiences affect your present life.

In our therapy sessions I will listen attentively and respond fully. We will work together to identify self-defeating patterns and develop more useful coping techniques for positive change. My approach is guided by the theories of cognitive behavioral therapy,  attachment theory, narrative therapy, mindfulness cognitive therapy, and interpersonal psychotherapeutic techniques.

I will work with you to gain deeper insight so you can understand your own life challenges. The goals and solutions we will come up with are your own and will be realistic for you.
